A New Germany

They're were 3 main reasons that cause WW2 to happen: The Great Depression, The Treaty of Versailles, and appeasement. The appeasement was when Hitler started taking land and was promising peace. Second was the Great Depression which all counties suffered with no food or shelter. The Treaty of Versailles was unfair to Germany because they have to pay for all the damage that cause WW2.
Hitler rose to power when he was promise German people food, water, and jobs. Another reason was when Von Hindenburg died he gave all his power to Hitler to rule Germany.
Some actions that the nazis did when they got power was get a big military and take over land. While the nazis were taking over land the other counties didn't care cause they didn't want to be involve.

After World War 1

Some positive results of WW1 saw that they came up with new inventions, creativity, and new ideas. The negatives after WWI was that many people died, people changed the way they think, and people began questioning traditional beliefs.
Writers and philosopher's were affected by WWI. Philosophers and writers question every idea about reason and progress. T.S Elliot, is an American poet that lived in England and wrote about society  had lost its spirit.
Another thing that was affect by WW1 was art and artist. Artist wanted to depict the inner world of emotion and imagination rather than show realistic representation, of objects. Surrealism, an art movement that sought to link the world of dream with real life, was inspired by Freud ideas. The term surreal means "beyond or above reality".
Also the WW1 affected science. One thing was Albert Einstein new ideas on science, space, time, energy, and matter. Einstein idea had implication not only for science but also for how people viewed the world.

How the U.S. & Russia Changed WWI

The United States joined World War I with the Allies on April 2, 1917 because the Germans said their submarines would begin sinking any ship near England. 3 of the U.S. Ships were sank which then angered the Americans. This plan was called unrestricted submarine warfare. Also Germany said would help Mexico "reconquer" land it had lost to the United States if Mexico would team up with Germany.
One of the reasons Russia quit World War 1 is because in 1917 nearly 5.5 million Russian soldiers had been wounded, killed, or taken prisoner. Also they suffered a lot which made Russians refused to fight any longer.
Germany felt confident about winning World War I because they mounted one final, massive attack on the Allies in France. Germany destroy everything in their path. Once they reach Marne river Paris was less then 40 mile of their reach. Victory for Germany and The Central Powers seemed within their reach.
US made a significant impact on the war stopping Germany in France, and destroyed their hope to win the war, losing massive amounts of troops.
Three significant impacts the war had on the world was the world lost 8.5 million soldiers, many civilian's suffered and died of starvation diseases and slaughters, and every continent in the world was involved.

WW1 part one EXPOSITORY

Other names that World War 1 had was "The Great War" and "The war to end all wars".

The best estimate of people that die World War 1 is about 14 million. Germany lost 2 million people, Russia lost 1.7 million, Austria-Hungry lost about 1 million, Great Britain lost 900,000, and many many more people died in the war.

The European were peaceful making money and live a happy life. In till the summer of 1914 were their peace ended.

Austria declare war to Serbia in July 28, 1914. they declare war because the shot their prince in Serbia.

Kaiser Wilhelm II express nationalism. some things he said was that Germany deserved nationalism. also that they were the most advance technology and  strongest army.

Der tag means the day. the day when Germany defeats all their enemies.

Cause of WW1

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_0AxnxVMPYHdndCc01QUEVrdGM/edit?usp=docslist_api

In the 1900's Europe was in peace for 30 years. They work hard to get peace.

The biggest issues that led to WW1 was imperialism, nationalism, militarism, bad alliances, and racialism.

Nationalism- is when a country was better then another.
Imperialism- when a stronger country took over a weaker country.
Racialism- is when someone is judging I another race in a bad way.

There were two sides
Triple Alliance - Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungry and the Triple Entente - Great Britain, France, and Russia

Imperialism in India

Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse a 38 year old man. Gandhi was killed on January 30, 1948 in the Indian city of New Delhi during a evening prayer. Godse believed Gandhi was advocating for more Muslim power in the country.
India were imperialism by the British. When the British took over they took India's salt and were selling them back to them for a higher piece. The British took their clothing material to England so they can make good looking clothes and sell it back to them.
A strategy Gandhi use to get independence's for India was having non violence.
I think Gandhi was successful. I say he was because he got independence's for India. Also because he did it non violence even though they mistreated him.
What Gandhi did in his life that i would find very hard to repeat is fasting because anyone can die when they don't eat.
What he showed us through his life was that you can do stuff without violence in it. It's important because violence will sometimes pop up when you're doing something.

Imperialism in Southeast Asia

Some results of imperialism in Southeast Asia was that their colonization brought mixed results: economies grew, road, harbors, and railroads improved transportation.
The Pacific Rim is on the Asian countries that border the Pacific Ocean. Europe desired the Pacific Ocean land for their strategic location along the sea route to china. Also the Pacific Rim was helpful to grow crops and business.
The Dutch, British, and French went to Southeast Asia to make money by growing coconut, sugar cane, pineapple, coffee, bananas, and rubber. The French, Emperor Napoleon III order the French army to invade southern Vietnam. What the British did was encourage the Chinese to migrate to Malaysia so they can tap the rubber trees. Since the British needed workers to mine for them.
The Dutch discover oil and tin on the islands and desire for more rubber.
Social Darwinism is what imperialist  countries believe in Social Darwinism, that god chose them to be people to take over others people and use their resources.

Imperialism in Africa

Imperialism is a strong country taking over a weaker country in order to take over there natural  resources and its political economic. Just like how Europe did to Africa in the 1860s.
Before europe took over africa, africa was a divided country that had different languages. They followed traditonal beliefs; other converted to islan or christianity.
Europe wanted African land because they needed more natural resources like coal, iron, and water, and they needed new markets for goods. They also needed the abundance of raw materials. Lastly, they needed a place to sell stuff.
The Africans fought back using spears and sheilds, but they lost the battle because the British used rifles and guns. So after that the British took over most of Africa.
Dutch and Great Britain were fighting against each other to take over Africa but Africans started fighting against the Dutch and the British.

Threats to Capitalism

1) On March 15,2014 Jeremy Rifkin wrote a opinion piece on The New York Times talking about a new threat on capitalism. Through his opinion he talks about Maginal cost which is the charge in the total cost that arises from producing one more unit of a goal.
2) "Paradox at the heart of capitalism ...threatening it's future", was said by Jeremy Rifkin. What Mr.Rifikin means is it might not seem true by it looks like everything is so cheap its baiscy free.
3) One example that relates to what Rifkin is music. You can go to need online website to download the latest music without paying a cent. Which makes it hard for artist to make need money.
Another example is movies; downloading free movies or watch just watching them online also make it hard for the actors to get pay or even pay for the equipment they use.
4) In the article he wrote he mentions "the internet of things" in which every single device that has access to the internet are connected. By uploading different types of data this will attract more consumers to make more educated purchasing decisions. By doing this the marginal cost will be decreasing and the threat to capitalism will increase.
5) I agree with Rifkin because it will be hard for people to make money if everything is on the internet. So this will be a threat to capitalism.

Inequality for all?

The typical factory life for business owners would be working for many Horus and would be risking their own money. If they did a bad job he lose all his money, but he did good he would get a lot of profit.
The union was born in England and help out the workers. Workers wanted reform and join together in association called labor unions. A million of workers were in unions by 1875. The union demanded better condition and better pay when they work, so they all stop working and waited till they got what they wanted.
Children should have the right to work at the age 16 or 17. They should start working at that age so they can help their family or buy stuff they want. Also at that age they would be more stronger and and how more energy.
The life's of workers change over time. Reformers and unions forced government to be responsible for the kids and women in the factories.

Change, change, change.

During the industrial revolution women had to work and even young kids like the age of 5. The cities grew larger. To people it was easier to afford to heat their homes and eat better food.

This change all of work durning the industrial revolution. People would work 14 hours a day at a job 6 days a week. When they we're be working the factory's wouldn't be clean and the machine would injure workers regularly.

There was two middle classes which were the upper class and the lower class. The upper class were the people who were doctors, lawyers, and mangers of factory, mines, and shops. The lower class people were factory overseers, such skilled workers as toolmakers, mechanical drafters, and printers.

The significance of the Industrial Revolution was to create more jobs and provide the hope of improvement in people life. The social media is a important source to teenagers life. Teenagers use Facebook to talk to there friends and family. To find their old friends they haven't seen or even family members. Although there's positive things to it there's negative too. Like some teenagers wouldn't be hanging out anymore, or talking in person.

Industrial revolution began in England

The industrialization is the process of developing machine production of good.
The revolution needed to began was lots of natural resources. Water power and coal to fuel the machines. Iron ore to contract machines, tools and buildings. Also rivers for inland transportation.
The industrial revolution began in England in the 1700s. The first step of the revolution was to feed more people cheaper. An increasing population boosted the demand for food and profit. Farmers were pushed of their land and the farmers and their families had to be moved to cities and had to be fed.
One of their major problem was pollution. The was bad because it would make people sick or kill them. One way they could of got rid of pollution was by moving the factory's way from their home or use a different method to not get so much pollution.

Ukraine

dear president obama,

Ukraine is a country near Russia. Ukraine has the population of 44.9 million  and their language is Ukrainian. Their main export are: military equipment, metal, pipes, machinery, textiles, and petroleum products. Right now they're in a revolution; Ukraine is trying to unite with Europe, but Russia doesn't want that to happen
.
The East and south side of Ukraine wants to join Russia because they need protection. While the west side wants to join Europe.

Russia is interested in this because they have navy base in Ukraine.

The U.S and Europe are interested because they want the people to be save. The two countries want Ukraine stablized and saved.

Obama should help out Ukraine. He should help them out because Ukraine just wants to be safe. Also Obama doesn't need to start a war; they should just talk it out in peace so Russia can just leave.

Europe After Napoleon

After Napoleon was defeated the Europeans were looking to establish long-lasting peace. The European leaders at the congress of Vienna tired to restore order. The aristocrats met in Austria Vienna. Their goal was to have peace and stability.

France had a goal and they accomplish it by:
1) Preventing future French aggression by surrounding France with stronger countries.
2) restore balance of power, so that no country would be threaten by others.
3) Restore Europe's royal family to the thrones they had held before Napoleon conquest.

The purpose of balance of power was not to weaken France so much. Also if any country got threaten the other countries would help them out. The purpose of legitimacy was to return the power to the king and queen.

For the Europeans the congress of Vienna was a success. It was a successful peace meeting in the history of the world. The Congress of Vienna left a legacy that would influence world politics for the next 100 years.

Simón Bolívar & Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson was the 3rd U.S. president. Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 and died July 4, 1826. He was the spokesman of liberty. Thomas Jefferson was a writer, farmer, and a slave owner. Simón Bolívar was General and a dictator. He was born on July 24, 1783 and died in 1830. Simón fought in many country in South America and won their independence from Spain.

Some aspects I admire about Thomas Jefferson is that he became a lawyer and got a good education. I admire it because without the good education he wouldn't probably be a president, a lawyer, and a spokesman of liberty. I didn't admire how he wanted to keep slaves.

Bolivar and Jefferson got their ideas for the democratic government from life experience and they want to fight and get their freedom.

Their personal life experience made them who they are by their education, money, and friends. If these two were never born we would probably have problems in freedom.

Venezulea & The Enlightenment

Venezulea is country where the population is 29,100,000. Their persident is Nicolas Maduro. Venezuela is in the north of South America. The citizens in Venezuela are unhappy because the murder rate as being going up. The president Nicolas Maduro replace Hugo Chavez after his death. The opposition are the people who have a riot going on. They're demanding better security, protect freedom of speech, and an end to good shortage. This revolution is similar to Syria because they both wanted freedom of speech and liberty. I think sooner or later the opposition of Venezuela will get what they want.

Essential Documents

The "Due Process of law" is a regular administration of the law. No people can be denied of their rights. Also you can't be accused of a law you don't know (secret laws) everyone need to know the laws.

Popular sovereignty is when we the people give the government power the to do what's best for us. This is essential democracy because it's guaranteed freedom and not be dominated by foreign nation.

I think unalienable rights are a essential to  a democratic because they said we are created equal, and have liberty.

Representative government is an electroal system where the people get to vote to chose the people who can represent their interest and concerns.

The U.S. should not help in Syria Civil War

Syria is country in the western Asia. Syria population is 21.1 million people and their language is Arabic. Right now the biggest problem in Syria is the government. Syria has a civil war going on since march 2011.

The U.S. should not be involved in the Syria war because we are in other wars already so why should we be in more war. Many men are getting killed in the wars we are already in we do not want to lose more.  Also we wouldnt have enough supplies to support them.

If we get involved many more people would be dying. We shouldnt be supporting them because are other men in the others war need more help or need supplies. Also we dont want to be losing more people because their family are worried enough.

If we did help Syria out they would helps us too. Syria would be less damage and wouldnt have so much death. With the U.S. help Syria would be a safe place to live.

Even though Syria is having problems and need are help we couldnt help them. If we werent in other wars we would help them and support them. Since we are in others wars, and losing many people we cant help them.

How was the French Revolution different to the American Revolution

The American revolution and French Revolution fought differently. The Americans fought against England and the French fought against their own people. The French Revolution was more violent then the American Revolution. Also the American revolution was during 1775-1783 while the French Revolution was during 1789-1799.

THE FRENCH REVOLUTION

The French revolution got inspired by the american revolution; they read the Declaration of Independence and they admired it.
The French people from the 3rd estate demanded that they wanted liberty, equality, and democracy because they didn't have that at all.
The members of the third estate were dissatisfied living under the older order. They were dissatisfied because they didn't have access to any good jobs and they payed 50% of their income to the rich, government, and church.

Enlightenment &Arab Spring

The revolution in Tunisia all started by one man named Mohamed Bouazizi. He was a 26 years old
unemployment man who strugged to support his family by selling fruit on the street. Since he didnt have a permint the police took his fruit cart and started beating him. Mohamed thought it was wrong of what they did so he set himself on fire. After he took that action other people notice and they start to took action by starting a revolution.

All what the Tunisian wanted so to get freedom because their president didn't give them any rights.

The Arab spring and the American revolution are similar because they wanted to be free, be happy, and have justice.
Mohamed Bouazizi took the right reaction. What he did saw correct even though he killed himself he inspired many people to take act; fight for their rights, and freedom. With the revolution the people made they got the president Zine Al Abidine Ben Ali  to quit his job.

American Revolution

The American revolution got inspired by the  enlightenment ideas: freedom of speech, religious toleration, direct democracy, accused have rights, and etc.

One enlightenment idea that I think its important is freedom of speech. Its important because everyone has the right to express their opinion without being punish. If we didn't have freedom of speech everyone would be scared to say nothing bad. Therefore we need it to what we want and when we want.
