Cause of WW1

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_0AxnxVMPYHdndCc01QUEVrdGM/edit?usp=docslist_api

In the 1900's Europe was in peace for 30 years. They work hard to get peace.

The biggest issues that led to WW1 was imperialism, nationalism, militarism, bad alliances, and racialism.

Nationalism- is when a country was better then another.
Imperialism- when a stronger country took over a weaker country.
Racialism- is when someone is judging I another race in a bad way.

There were two sides
Triple Alliance - Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungry and the Triple Entente - Great Britain, France, and Russia

Imperialism in India

Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse a 38 year old man. Gandhi was killed on January 30, 1948 in the Indian city of New Delhi during a evening prayer. Godse believed Gandhi was advocating for more Muslim power in the country.
India were imperialism by the British. When the British took over they took India's salt and were selling them back to them for a higher piece. The British took their clothing material to England so they can make good looking clothes and sell it back to them.
A strategy Gandhi use to get independence's for India was having non violence.
I think Gandhi was successful. I say he was because he got independence's for India. Also because he did it non violence even though they mistreated him.
What Gandhi did in his life that i would find very hard to repeat is fasting because anyone can die when they don't eat.
What he showed us through his life was that you can do stuff without violence in it. It's important because violence will sometimes pop up when you're doing something.

Imperialism in Southeast Asia

Some results of imperialism in Southeast Asia was that their colonization brought mixed results: economies grew, road, harbors, and railroads improved transportation.
The Pacific Rim is on the Asian countries that border the Pacific Ocean. Europe desired the Pacific Ocean land for their strategic location along the sea route to china. Also the Pacific Rim was helpful to grow crops and business.
The Dutch, British, and French went to Southeast Asia to make money by growing coconut, sugar cane, pineapple, coffee, bananas, and rubber. The French, Emperor Napoleon III order the French army to invade southern Vietnam. What the British did was encourage the Chinese to migrate to Malaysia so they can tap the rubber trees. Since the British needed workers to mine for them.
The Dutch discover oil and tin on the islands and desire for more rubber.
Social Darwinism is what imperialist  countries believe in Social Darwinism, that god chose them to be people to take over others people and use their resources.

Imperialism in Africa

Imperialism is a strong country taking over a weaker country in order to take over there natural  resources and its political economic. Just like how Europe did to Africa in the 1860s.
Before europe took over africa, africa was a divided country that had different languages. They followed traditonal beliefs; other converted to islan or christianity.
Europe wanted African land because they needed more natural resources like coal, iron, and water, and they needed new markets for goods. They also needed the abundance of raw materials. Lastly, they needed a place to sell stuff.
The Africans fought back using spears and sheilds, but they lost the battle because the British used rifles and guns. So after that the British took over most of Africa.
Dutch and Great Britain were fighting against each other to take over Africa but Africans started fighting against the Dutch and the British.
